Catherine Fung MSN, ACNP-BC, is a board-certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with fourteen years of experience in intraoperative and perioperative surgical management. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing and Acute Care Nurse Practitioner degrees from California State University, Los Angeles in 2012 and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
After prior roles at UCLA and Keck Hospital of USC, Catherine joined UC Irvine eleven years ago. With over ten years of specialized expertise in treating and following prostate cancer patients, she is a highly skilled Advanced practice provider in urologic oncology.
Mentored by pioneers in robotic surgery, Dr. Thomas Ahlering, a world recognized leader who pioneered the procedure in multiple countries including Southern California, Denmark, Australia, Canada; and Dr. David Lee, a nationally recognized expert with one of largest experiences globally, exceeding 7200 cases, Catherine delivers exceptional evidenced-based care.
She provides comprehensive post-prostatectomy surveillance, manages elevated PSA levels and biochemical recurrence; and actively assists in robotic-assisted care contributing to precise, minimally invasive procedures with optimal outcomes. Passionate about supporting patients through every stage, she collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to create personalized plans, emphasizing improved quality of life.
