Dr. Chuang specializes in prenatal hydronephorsis, undescended testes, and conditions affecting sex development. She serves as a pediatric urologist at UC Irvine Health and at CHOC Children’s Hospital of Orange County. Dr. Chuang’s clinical interests also encompass bladder and bowel dysfunction, hypospadias, and spina bifida.

Biography:

Dr. Chuang attended medical school at the University of California, San Francisco. She subsequently completed her surgical internship and urology residency at the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System in New York (now named the Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine). Dr. Chuang then returned to UC San Francisco for a pediatric urology fellowship, during which she received training in biostatistics and epidemiology.

Roles & Memberships:

Dr. Chuang has been published in peer-reviewed journals and is an invited author for numerous urology textbooks. Prior to her medical schooling, she was also an active member of the Berkeley Free Clinic, where she served as a California state-certified HIV prevention counselor. This position provided her with an understanding of common barriers to behavioral changes, an asset that helps her care for children in her current role.
